Excelsior Boulevard through the years

Excelsior Boulevard has been a commercial and medical corridor since the postwar building boom. In the late 1940s, Minnesota's first shopping center, the 30,000-square-foot Lilac Way, opened on the northeast corner of Excelsior Boulevard and Highway 100, and it was torn down in the late 1980s to make way for redevelopment. In the same years, a group of 11 former army doctors opened the St. Louis Park Medical Center in a small building on Excelsior Boulevard. It later merged with Methodist Hospital and is part of Park Nicollet Health Services today. Today several dental offices sit within a few blocks of one another along the boulevard.

Choosing an office near Excelsior Boulevard

Because so many offices are close together, the practical differences are the ones to compare: hours, insurance, how soon a new patient can be seen, and how the office handles emergencies outside office hours. The American Dental Association also suggests asking whether information about fees and payment plans is provided before treatment is scheduled. Call two or three offices with the same short list of questions and see which one answers most clearly.

If you are comparing plans and prices, read dental cost and insurance first. If you want to know what a first appointment involves, see your first dental visit.

All Care Dentistry is on Minnetonka Boulevard, Aspen Dental is on West 16th Street and Brookside Dentistry is on Brookside Avenue, on the Minneapolis side of the line.
